BROWNIES
Makes 2 sheet pans. Bake in 350° oven.

| Flour,sifted | 1 ½ lbs. | 6 cups | |
| Cocoa | 1 1/8 lbs. | 4 ½ cups | |
| Salt | 3 tsps. | ||
| Shortening,or butter | 2 lbs. | 1 qt. (or 4 cups) | |
| Sugar | 3 qts. (or 12 cups) | ||
| Shell eggs | 4 ½ cups | ||
| Vanilla | 2 Tbsps. | ||
| Chopped nuts,if desired | 1 ¼ qts. (or 6 cups) | ||
| White syrup | 3 oz. | 3 Tbsps. |
DIRECTIONS:
1. Sift together dry ingredients;add nuts. Cream shortening,sugar and eggs. Add syrup.
2. Add vanilla and dry ingredients. Mix well. Spread ½” deep in greased sheet pans.
3. Bake in 350° F. conventional oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until done. Cool before cutting. Frost,if desired.
